Our first pick would have to come from the launch of The Fashion of J Culture. The plaid look of the season came in a time machine from the 1990’s and made its way into the fall/winter wardrobe trends.

J Trend: My My, Aren’t We Popular?

           Don’t call it a comeback. Our old friend plaid, who we used to be great friends with in the 90’s just made its way back into our hearts. This highly popular trend has been found on New York’s biggest runways for this season during fashion week. Plaid is ultra cool this season. Our old friend has decided to stick around through the winter, and J Culture has awesome ways for you two to hang out.

            Alright kiddies, so gather around. We have a quick history lesson. Plaid originated in Scotland. I know big surprise huh, especially since we associate it mainly with kilts. So back to the lesson, Plaid was a sort of uniform used to distinguish the many clans in the highlands and islands of Scotland. This pattern looked nothing like its modern day counterpart. In later times colored stripes were added into the fabric to indicate the rank of the person wearing the pattern. Cool right? For example, a high king in that time would wear seven stripes. One of the stripes would be purple because, that was the color of royalty. Hmmm, maybe we should use that to distinguish a fashion higharchy.

            So now that you know a little about it, how about how to wear it? You know, to keep you from being mistaken for Joey Lawrence from the 90’s sitcom Blossom. After all, this is a J Trend, so it has to be fabuloso. With that said, here are some tips to incorporate a little plaid to your wardrobe:

• Dresses: Plaid dresses are for the bolder J Trend setters. It makes a bold statement and is ultra tres chic. These are some haute styles to try:

J Trends!!! Colored Tights are in this Season!!!

   Colored Tights are in this season, and this Blog is going to show you JUST how to wear them! Look at it like this, colored tights are designed to be an attention grabber but not a sounding board. With that said, you are not trying to look like a rainbow of bright colors. The tights are an accessory and should be treated as such. They should accent your outfit. Wearing outfit color choices such as black, brown, and grey will keep the tights as an attraction and not a distraction.
   A popular color choice this fall has been the tangerine tights. The tangerine colored tights are NOT meant to be worn with black. You are not trying to be the mascot for Halloween.
